I am a descendant of Richard Allen, the founder of the first African American Church in America, which still exists to this day in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia. It is warmly and affectionately known as Mother Bethel. This church led to the founding of schools, colleges, hospitals and funding for many businesses for African Americans.

I am so very proud to say that this man, Richard Allen, is my third great grandfather. He left a legacy of hope for not only my family but all African Americans in America today. He was known for building bridges of hope and salvation to all those who wanted to believe.

It is my hope and prayer that I can continue to carry the torch that he lit for many souls years ago.
